Contributing to the Flow Analysis Database

Since its inception in 1997 I have tried to find support for the Flow Analysis Database. In the early years I was able to get funding from Skalar and RSC. However, it was a challenge to keep the lights on and eventually I had to do only what I could based on only my free time. It was therefore not easy to do updates and keep up with the flood of FIA/SIA etc. research.

Recently I have moved into the area of chemical informatics and I now see how the FAD fits in the landscape of "big data" and the "semantic web". I have been re-energized and it is obvious now that this needs to be a communty project and not just one mans passion. So, how can you help? Here are some ideas...

• Submit DOI's to papers in the field as they are published
• Find lost articles and sending me copies
• Get yourself an ORCID id
• Signing up as a site user, filling out your current information, making sure your research in the area is in the database and annotating each paper with keywords
• Spread the word about the database on social media
