"Flow Injection Fluorimetric Measurement Of The Average Valency Of Copper In An Yttrium Superconductor System With Use Of Micro Amounts Of Sample"
Bunseki Kagaku 1996 Volume 45, Issue 4 Pages 341-346
Watanabe, K.;Ohba, K.;Itagaki, M.

Abstract: A 0.02 µg sample of Y-Ba-Cu-O superconductor was dissolved in 5 mL of 5% ascorbic acid, and a 0.1 mL portion was injected into a carrier stream (0.3 ml/min) of water, which subsequently merged with streams of 5% ascorbic acid (0.3 ml/min) and o-phenylenediamine (0.4 ml/min) at 60°C (manifold illustrated); the fluorescence was monitored at 430 nm (excitation at 350 nm). An equation is presented for the calculation of the mean Cu valency on the basis of the fluorimetric result and the total concentration of Cu as measured by AAS. The results agreed with those obtained by iodimetry.
