Abstract: Sample solution was diluted fivefold with water, and a 70 µL portion was injected into a carrier stream (0.4 mL min-1) of 0.5 M H2SO4. The reagent stream (0.3 mL min-1) was 0.12 M KIO3 - 0.5 M H2SO4, and, after mixing in the reaction coil (3 m x 0.5 mm), the change in absorbance at 460 nm was measured. The calibration graph covered the range from 19 to 57 mM H2PO2- in the final solution; the coefficient of variation at 47 mM H2PO2- was 2.1% (n = 5). No pre-separation was required. About 15 samples could be analyzed in 1 h.
