Abstract: The cited reagent is complexed with Pd(II) in 0.5 M H2SO4 medium at 80°C. The complex is determined spectrophotometrically at 625 nm. Response is rectilinear up to 8 µg mL-1 of Pd with a detection of 0.15 µg mL-1. The method is applied in the determination of Pd in anode mud and chlorination residue, with satisfactory results.

Abstract: Sample was decomposed by fusing with Na2O2, the fusion cake was extracted with hot water and the extract was distilled in the presence of KMnO4, NaCl and H2SO4 at 107°C. A portion of the distillate was analyzed by flow injection spectrophotometry with detection at 506 nm. The detection limit was 0.01 µg/ml of Os. For 0.01-0.1 µg/ml of Os, the RSD was 2.1%. The sample throughput was 20/h.

Abstract: A method is described in which Pd(II) is complexed with 4-nitrochlorophosphonazo in H2SO4, and the absorbance of the solution is measured at 625 nnm (ε = 40, 000). Beer's law was obeyed from 0.08 to 0.72 µg mL-1 and from 0.1 to 8.0 µg mL-1 of Pd by direct and flow injection methods, respectively. The methods were applied in the analysis of anode slime and sludges without pre-separation.
