Abstract: The method and apparatus for the preparation of phosphatidylcholine/dipalmitoylphosphatidic acid membranes, containing enzymes or antibodies, cast on glass microfiber or polycarbonate ultrafiltration membranes are described [cf. Anal. Chem., 1995, 67, 936; Electroanalysis (N.Y.), 1995, 7, 531, 1082]. The membranes were used in flow injection amperometric determinations of (i) substrates (e.g., acetylcholine, penicillin and urea) of hydrolytic enzymes, and (ii) antigens (e.g., thyroxine and triazine herbicides).

Abstract: Anal. functional properties of miniaturized amperometric biosensors with supported bilayer lipid membranes were examined S-BLM-based glucose biosensor could be successfully applied in FIA system. The proper storage conditions allowed for about 2 wk use without any loss of sensitivity. Dynamic properties were good enough to obtain the sample throughout 20/h in FIA measurements. The biosensor response was linear up to 20 mM of glucose with detection limit on submillimolar level. The interferences of anionic formers of electroactive components of the sample could be removed with additional layer of cationic exchanger Nafion.
