Abstract:
A system based on extraction into a polymer PVC [9002-86-2] as solvent was examined because of possible advantages in speed, simplicity, sample size, solvent handling, etc., especially when coupled with flow injection and an amperometric detector. Solutes examined included salicylic acid [69-72-7] and 8-hydroxyquinoline [148-24-3]. The apparatus consisted of 0.8 mm inside diameter x 170 cm coiled tubing that could be connected directly to the injection loop of a flow-injection amperometric detector system containing a Ni oxide electrode.
